If you have any feedback or additional ideas DO NOT EDIT the note, simply add comments where relevant and these would be discussed in the next meeting.
Best Practices For Remote Work
Communication & Collaboration
Calls
- Morning calls – Google hangouts
- Personal calls – feel free to use what works best for you (WhatsApp, Slack, Google Hangouts, Jitsy...)
Messaging
- Work related – ALL messaging happens in Slack. If possible have all messaging in channels for the rest of the team to stay on top of things (click on the page bellow to see the list & descriptions of each channel)
- Personal – feel free to use what works best for you. Make sure to use WhatsApp only for non work related discussions since it will get lost in the abyss, never to be found again...
Collaboration
- VS Code Live – enables you to quickly collaborate on the same codebase without the need to synchronise code or to configure the same development tools, settings, or environment.
Work Status
Whilst working ALWAYS keep your status as online – so we can reach you at any time and know who is available!
- If you have to leave for lunch or to run an errand change your status accordingly.
Product Road Map & Development
To manage our development, timing, and prioritisation we use Google Sheets. Click for more information regarding how the table works.
- Make sure the Product road map is up to date
- If there are user stories missing in the feature you are working on, feel free to add them. Remember, if you add a user story to a feature mark it in a RED font until you have discussed it and mentioned it to the team in the morning call. Only after being discussed can it be changed to a BLACK font.
