Reach wasn't originally created to be a company. It was built to accomplish a mission – to help people reach their full potential by reinventing filing as we know it.

We believe culture is fluid and continuously evolving.

We believe culture cannot be forced upon a team.

We believe culture comes from within – created by the values, habits, and work ethics of the team.

From the inception of Reach, we have guided ourselves by a series of values and beliefs that have shaped us to what we are today. These beliefs are described below to help us stay on the right path and to set the precedent for new members joining the team. For more details on our core values check Our Core Values .

The Team

People are the most crucial asset of a company. The strategy, product, sales, marketing... everything is the result of the collective work of the team. In other words, the team is the company.

It is existential to build an amazing team – where everyone thrives to reach their full potential, where we all learn from each other, a team that brings the best out of each and everyone, a team whose dynamics makes us flourish.

One can only have a successful product, if its team is successful, driven and motivated – which is why we strongly encourage these habits:

Learn From Others

No one knows everything so it is essential that everyone in the team enjoys learning very, very fast. If you don't know something don't worry ask the team if someone can help you and tackle the challenge!

Share your knowledge to grow as one. At the end of every month, whoever learnt a new tool, framework, or language can share his insight and knowledge by doing a quick presentation to the rest of the team.

Be openminded

We believe that different perspectives lead to better ideas.

At Reach every opinion matters – we don't recognise authority or dogma! Listen, think and draw your own conclusions, don't be afraid to challenge people, and always keep an open mind for new ideas.

We are all in here with the same objective, so its important we don't take our positions personally and refuse to listen to others. So whenever we across an impasse, we outline the pros and cons, assess the various options presented, and discuss them until we reach a consensus and the right decision reveals itself.

Be critical

Constantly question yourself – how could I improve this, is there a better way to tackle this problem, etc... No one knows everything – there is always decisions that are wrong, mistakes that are made, or better ways of doing things. So be critical, modest and consistently question yourself.

If you feel there’s something you disagree on, you have an alternative view on something, or you spot a mistake somewhere – just say it. Your opinions matter – we are always open to new ideas & information. More importantly we embrace constructive feedback that help us grow and improve.

Speed, Trust & Freedom

We want you to reach your full potential. We want you to push yourself, take yourself out of your comfort zone, embrace challenges, never stop learning, tackle steep learning curves. We want you to strive to become the best version of yourself.

If you think something is important, unless its could have serious repercussions, just do it. Try it out, make the change and experiment. If you need to experiment, don't ask, just do it. Learning is always a good thing as it develops you and moves us closer to success.

We trust our team, which is why every developer has the keys to push code into production. If you have any doubts or are uncertain about something, there is no such thing as a stupid question, just ask.

Hack and Run

The quick shall inherit the Earth. In the early days, speed is king, we need to build crazy fast to get the product out to our users and find product-market fit as quickly as possible. Things don't have to be perfect, the priority is to get it out. Move fast, learn fast, and iterate.

You can always keep on improving something – once you got it to 90%, get it out. If you happen to break something, don't worry, just solve it.
